Sing for Remembrance

In addition to its usual repertoire, the choir at Saint Mary’s , Lynton, has been, recently, familiarising itself with some more contemporary hymns and worship songs. This lead to our being able to offer, on three successive Tuesdays in August, a short time of sung worship, which we called “sing for joy“. These occasions were positively received, by folk who came in to church, either to actively participate with us or,simply , to sit and listen.
Following this successful venture, we are going to be pleased to present, as part of the remembrance weekend in November, some songs and readings, from the great war, under the title of “sing for remembrance“. This will be for about 40 minutes, in Saint Mary‘s Church, at 6 o’clock, on the evening of Friday, the 9th of November. We have no doubt, that this will be a most worthwhile and engaging occasion, in which it will be possible to either sit and enjoy the time, or join in, with some of the songs which were very familiar, to the allied troops , one hundred years ago .... please come along and join us — you will be most welcome !

Thank You

Wondering what our banner is? The Lyn Valley Mission Community - from the sea!
The banner heading at the top of the page depicts an accurate land profile as viewed from the sea. All our churches can be seen in the correct positions (well nearly)! The names read in the correct order. The sun is setting in an unusual position but that's designer's licence for you!
